VENDOR PARKING

The Miami Design District is providing our makers and staff with a FREE designated parking lot for the market weekend!

Please park at least 2 blocks away from the venue, or use the free parking lot the District has provided for our staff. The free parking lot is Tuttle South. The address is 281 NE 38th St Miami, FL 33137 (the lot is across Federal highway). Please see an aerial map HERE and note the location of Tuttle South. HERE is another visual guide to help. The lot will be open as early as 7am on Saturday and Sunday. Please contact security (786-260-6490) if you have any issues. You do not need to provide any signage to enter, just enter and park.

This lot is for makers and our staff only; if it’s determined this lot has been misused during the event weekend it will no longer be an option for future events.

FOOD TRUCKS

We prefer our food trucks to load in on Friday evening. Our team will be on site from 6pm – 9pm. Food trucks can park their truck between 7pm-9pm, or stop by during those hours to speak with our market manager, Cherie, and see their assigned space.

If you cannot park your food truck Friday night, you will need to park between 7am-7:15am on Saturday morning. Once our makers begin arriving we can no longer allow trucks to drive into the lot for safety reasons.

Your truck must be parked from Saturday until the event is over on Sunday.

Please feel free to call Cherie at (951) 452-7504 upon arrival.

Please be sure you have paid your deposit via the link sent to you before the event. You can pay your participation fee at the end of the market on Sunday, or let our market manager know that you need to be invoiced on Monday morning.

COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS & POLICIES

Maker and attendee safety is our top priority. In order to help your fellow makers feel safe and comfortable we are implementing the following safety protocols.

  • We do not require masks
  • Hand sanitizing stations at every table
  • Limited time-slot tickets

COVID policies:

You may not come to the market if you have been exposed to, have, or exhibit COVID-19 symptoms and if you have been exposed or have COVID-19, you must wait until you have a doctor’s note saying you are safe to attend.

Given current events, you should plan ahead in case anyone on your team contracts COVID-19, so that your company can still attend the market (i.e. having additional staff in case someone is sick or caring for a sick person) as we do not offer refunds and expect makers to have planned ahead during this pandemic. It takes a lot of time and organization to put on a market, so having our makers come fully prepared is incredibly important to the success of this event for everyone including attendees.

In the unlikely event that the market is canceled/postponed due to government-imposed COVID-19 ordinances, your payment is non refundable.

Disclaimer: Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present; we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during the market but ask you to take precautions to greatly decrease any possibility of exposure.

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE MARKET?

Makers should bring all of their own display materials. Markets for Makers does not provide or rent tables, chairs or displays so each maker should bring their own.

You must stay within the foot print of your space:

Booth space: 10ft wide x 10ft deep

Do not try to bring a tent larger than 10ft x 10ft to the market as it will not fit and you will not be able to use it during the event.

Bring a white tent or umbrella with proper weights to secure your tent or umbrella in the event of rain or wind.

Our team made a master market checklist for indoor and outdoor markets, you can access it by CLICKING HERE. Once you open it, create a custom copy for yourself that applies to this market.

CAN I GET ELECTRICITY & WIFI?

Access to electricity is very limited at this outdoor venue. Due to this, we do not offer any electricity upgrades for the Miami outdoor market. Please come prepared with a battery operated power source and your own LED lights to use with your own power source if needed.

Unfortunately this venue does not have dedicated wifi. Our team prepares with hot spots and making sure our phones are fully charged, we suggest you do the same. You can purchase wifi hot spot from your provider or another provider. We encourage you to be prepared with a hot spot and the ability to take your card reader offline.

IS THERE SECURITY AT THE VENUE AT NIGHT?

Yes. The venue is an outdoor lot. We have an overnight security guard that will be patrolling the area but please bring tent walls to secure your things, and lower your tent 1/2 way with weights when you close up at the end of the day Saturday. Markets for Makers is not liable for your products and booth. Please free to leave your display materials but remove your valuables at night (ex: products, electronics, cash boxes, etc).

If there is inclement weather on Saturday night, you may be asked to fully take away your items so that they are safe overnight and also don’t damage other booths. You could leave many things in your assigned spot, but wrap them in a tarp if preferred. Nothing that could become airborne will be allowed. If there’s wind or a storm predicted, we will open up set up hours earlier on Sunday morning to accommodate our makers.
