We are sad to announce that we will be postponing our markets that were scheduled for 2020 in Chicago, Miami and Jacksonville to due to COVID-19 and the safety of our Makers and attendees. We plan to resume all markets as soon as we can safely host indoor markets.

Launched in October, our new virtual market experience for mobile and desktop is easier to navigate and view multiple makers at once.
Each maker listing has a pop-up bio with information about their company, photos and videos, and links to their social media and shop! Makers will be discovered on our main virtual market page where customers can sort by category.

If you are looking for exposure, this is the right market for you! As a maker in that lives in the middle of the sea, it can be hard to gain buyers from across the nation. I felt that Markets for Makers really expanded my customer reach to places I wouldn’t have otherwise.
HOW CAN I BE FEATURED ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA AND INVITED TO UPGRADES?
While we accept many makers that are still growing and working on various areas of their online presence, we are now only featuring those makers that have already established a strong brand and presence online.
We will be inviting accepted makers with the best product branding, packaging and photography, websites and social media to have access to exclusive upgrades. This includes makers spotlights, instagram story posts, shout outs, and being featured on our IGTV.
If you are not invited and are interested we suggest working in the above areas including great product packaging, product photography and in-action behind-the-scenes studio shots.
WHAT QUALIFIES AS A MAKER?
Makers are artists, writers, photographers, collectors and designers, they are the creators and dreamers that are driven to create the next great brands of the future.
Our team is looking for companies that are creating their own brand, which means that companies that sell items based off of other’s tv shows, movies, brands etc. (for example: a mug with Disney characters or a shirt with quotes from a TV show) are not normally accepted.
We accept applications from makers with:
Vintage or antique collectables
High quality craft and handmade items
Up-cycled or restored salvage
We do not accept makers with:
Direct sales & multi level marketing (Mary Kay, LulaRoe, It Works, LipSense, Scentsy, etc).
Wholesale distributors (This is in contrast to a boutique)
We are a family friendly event and also do not accept makers with:
Products with hateful messages
Drug paraphernalia/products and messaging that promote drugs
Curative products like CBD oils or pain relievers.
HOW ARE MAKERS EVALUATED AND SELECTED?
Makers are judged on the following criteria:
- Product quality and branding
- Unique products
- Booth display photos
- Online presence in the following categories:
- e-Commerce presence in either an online store or Etsy
Facebook & Instagram following, growth and activity
During the market our team is looking for the following qualities in Makers to be invited back:
- General good vibes and attitude
- Promotional efforts online
- Adherence to schedules
- Good communication
- Maker’s understanding and compliance of our policies
Please note: We have a capped amount of Makers per category to ensure the market maintains a standard of high-quality and variety. Participation in a past markets does not guarantee a spot for future markets as we do rotate vendors.
ARE FEES REFUNDABLE?
Makers will pay for their participation fee and application fee upfront, if not accepted, you will be notified and the participation fee will be refunded by the start date of the market period you have applied for.
Once accepted, we do not issue any refunds or credits.
WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK?
You will be notified if you have been accepted to the Virtual Market at least 1 week prior to the market start date.
IS THERE AN APPLICATION FEE?
Local Virtual Market application fees are $15 per each month you are applying to and are non refundable. This covers all administrative costs of processing the applications each month (yes, we evaluate each maker again as if they are brand new!) but does not guarantee acceptance into the market.
If you have not been accepted to a market, we highly suggest you take the time before the next market to work on certain areas of your company before the next month we look through makers.
